Hello! My name is Amelia and I was born in Wisconsin but grew up in Chicago. I was introduced to dance classes at age 2 and have been teaching jazz/ contemporary/ ballet/ hip hop classes for 5 years now. I have had works of choreography commissioned by companies in Chicago (such as Dancer’s Awareness Project and Senn Dance) and Lang Dance in NYC.
Growing up I competed in dance competitions across the IL/ WI area and then joined the Gus Giordano Jazz Pre-Professional company at age 13, which is where for years I honed my love for choreographing, mentoring, and teaching. After attending a performing arts high school in Chicago I went on to attend The New School at Lang Dance Department where I expanded my artistic repertoire and studied creative movement as a developmental tool. I have taught for Gus Giordano Dance School, Broadway Dance Center, and at PS 33 in NYC, and have been featured in two Jess Godwin music videos. My technical foundations are in ballet, jazz, and modern but I dabble in all styles!
